TOM BOROWSKI aka Tom Paints

Tom Borowski was born and raised in Northwest Indiana. Growing up, he was always drawing or playing baseball. After graduating high school, Tom moved to Savannah to study for 2 years before transferring to Los Angeles, Ca to attend the Art Center College of Design where he majored in Illustration and Entertainment Arts. During his time at Art Center, Tom studied under some of the most influential contemporary painters of today including Kent Williams and Sean Cheetham. Even though Tom excelled in those classes, he chose to pursue as a painter for animation. Currently, Tom is a Background Painter at Dreamworks Animation and he previously worked at Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Amazon Studios, ShadowMachine, and more. He also writes and has had two development deals for shows he created, one of which was optioned into the pilot for "Toasty Tales".

With the birth of his daughter in 2017, Tom knew he wanted her to grow up seeing her dad create art that he was truly passionate about, so he started to paint traditionally again. Finding a subject matter was daunting, but while watching baseball one night, Tom had the idea to paint the sport he loved most. Since this new journey began, Tom has enjoyed having his work featured at the White Sox and Blackhawks games and has worked with Yahoo Sports where he painted some of the NFL's top plays of the season. Tom has only just started his painting journey, but he looks forward to the day where he is faced with the decision between choosing between animation or fine art.
